Are you passionate about communications and the environment? Are you a highly-skilled and organized content writer and project manager looking to join a global investor initiative on climate change? CDP has a unique opportunity to offer an experienced communications and content professional. 

You will be joining CDP’s highly skilled global communications team to support the communications work and content development for global investor initiative, the Investor Agenda. CDP is one of the seven founding partners of the Investor Agenda. The global initiative has been developed for the global investor community to accelerate and scale up the actions that are critical to tackling climate change and achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement with the aim of keeping average global temperature rise to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius.

A results-oriented self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a track record in communications, you will work with colleagues across all seven organizations of the Investor Agenda to ensure the initiative’s work is well communicated across the globe.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Provide overall planning and coordination support for the Investor Agenda Communications Working Group (CWG) leads and their efforts to provide initiative-wide communications support. 
  • Assist CWG to schedule and organize calls and agendas, distribute materials, take notes, and track required responses and action items.
  • Lead on writing and editing for various initiative wide strategic communications content deliverables including reports, annual progress evaluations, investor climate action plans and supporting case studies.
  • Develop and manage the production of strategic marketing content and collateral to support overall efforts to demonstrate the initiative’s impact and investor action on climate change. 
  • Coordinate the translation of key Investor Agenda documents with translators and agencies.
  • Provide writing support for initiative-wide communications advocacy work and regional specific content writing needs.
  • Lead on developing website content and managing consultant to manage ongoing maintenance of the website, and make updates to pages regularly.
  • Develop high-quality blogs/op-eds and other content for the initiative’s website and external media placement by partners to showcase investor action on climate change.
  • Develop social media and digital content regularly, producing guidance for founding partners and investors to push out on their respective channels to market the initiative and their action; and develop social media kits ahead of key moments and events to bring visibility to investor action.

You will have the following skills and experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in journalism, advocacy or business writing, strategic communications or marketing.
  • Strong coordination, planning and project management skills.
  • Excellent communications, research, fact-checking, messaging development, writing, and editing skills. 
  • Experience in writing for an advocacy, investor, and news audience. 
  • Strong understand of digital media landscape and experience in website and social media marketing 
  • Successful record of managing multiple writing projects and the ability to work quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work proactively, both independently and collaboratively with a team.

This is a full time role based at CDP’s London office reporting to the Capital Markets Senior Communications Manager. 

Salary and benefits:  £34,000 - £40,000 per annum (please note this is a 1-year fixed-term contract), 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, annual discretionary bonus (depending on company performance), Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, Training and development, Flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
