CDP is looking for a full-time Marketing and Content Manager, based in our London headquarters, to develop and deliver marketing plans for an exciting new area of work. The successful candidate will play an important role within our global Strategic Communications and Marketing team. You will manage the end-to-end development and delivery of digital-first B2B marketing plans, with a particular focus on raising awareness and buy-in to CDP’s expansion to the new environmental topics of plastic pollution and ocean health. Audience- and insight-led, you will work with subject matter experts across the organization to create compelling campaigns that drive results against business objectives. An excellent communicator, with the ability to influence at a range of levels, you’ll be adept at distilling complex information into clear messaging for a range of audiences.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of CDP’s new programs of plastic pollution and ocean health. You will work alongside internal teams and key strategic partners to support the delivery of project objectives and grant deliverables.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the development, implementation and application of an audience insight and research strategy to inform the creation of marketing plans. Ensure knowledge is disseminated across relevant teams and embedded in planning.
- Develop clear user journeys for core audiences (cross-channel) and ensure that plastics and oceans-related calls-to-action form part of wider, cohesive marketing plans for stakeholders.
- Manage the development, implementation and evaluation of digital-first marketing plans that meet project objectives and are aligned with the global Communications and Marketing strategy.
- Provide best practice marketing support and advice to the plastic pollution and ocean health teams.
- Project manage internal resource and external freelancers or agencies to deliver plans to a high quality, on time and to budget.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates on plans to internal stakeholders, both through presentations and written reports, demonstrating progress against KPIs and achieving buy-in.
- Working closely with the communications team, lead and deliver the implementation of integrated multi-channel global marketing campaigns that deliver against the program plan and support CDP’s overarching 2025 strategy.
- Work closely with the content team to plan, create and deliver high-quality, innovative content marketing and related assets across a range of formats and for all key channels.
- Work with inhouse brand experts to develop the language, look and tone of CDP’s plastics and oceans programmes.
- Support colleagues globally in developing and delivering high quality marketing plans in key markets (e.g. Europe, North America, Latin America, South East Asia).
- Champion the CDP brand among key internal and external stakeholders.
Required skills and experience:
- Proven success of developing, implementing and evaluating highly successful cross-channel marketing plans.
- Experience of managing qualitative and quantitative market research projects and effectively utilising findings in the creation of marketing plans.
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively to meet objectives.
- At least the equivalent of 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and nurture relationships both internally and externally, including complex multi-stakeholder relationships. Experience working as part of a global team.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to distil usable insight from research and data.
- The ability to process complex information.
- Strong team skills and the flexibility to work across the business and with global offices.
- Excellent time management skills and an ability to meet deadlines under pressure and manage multiple project and stakeholder demands simultaneously.
- A CIM qualification.
- In-depth understanding of marketing tools and methodologies and practical experience delivering and executing a strategic marketing plan.
- Ability to link marketing activity to strategic objectives.
- Excellent copywriting skills, with experience writing compelling copy for marketing collateral including webpages, emails, case studies, etc.
- Concepting, creating and evaluating multimedia content.
- Solid understanding of legal compliance in the areas of marketing / data activity.
Desired skills and experience:
- Experience working with global corporations, cities or national or local government.
- Experience working with non-profits and/or companies on environmental sustainability issue areas.
- Experience managing external agencies.
- Experience of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or other content creation software.
Salary and benefits: circa £37,643 per annum depending on skills and experience, annual discretionary bonus (depending on company performance), 30 days’ holiday, generous non-contributory pension provision, life assurance and others.
This is a full-time contract, reporting to the Global Head of Marketing, based at CDP’s London office but with flexibility for hybrid working. Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK.
