Job purpose and background
The core business operation of CDP is collecting and using data on climate, water and forest sustainability disclosed by companies, organisations, cities, states and regions globally to drive awareness and action to improve the way society impacts the environment.
The Application Support team provide technical resolution for all users of the CDP disclosure platform. In 2024 we went live with our newly developed bespoke platform; built to drive the end-to-end CDP disclosure cycle from questionnaire creation to automated scoring and data product provisioning.
With such a significant year full of exciting milestones to achieve, the Application Support team is being expanded to ensure CDP can continue to deliver the annual disclosure cycle with as minimal disruption as possible, but to also build the team infrastructure which will provide scalability and effectiveness into the future
The Senior Systems Analyst will be an authoritative figure within the Application Support team; capable of jumping in and solving complicated queries, whilst also working with cross-functional teams to build deeper understanding of new application functionality, that can then be converted to capacity building for the wider Application Support team. They will play an active role in encouraging and supporting junior team members to take up new challenges, as well as identifying trends for consideration in trainings, knowledge base resources, and new ways of working. They will also represent the team at critical meetings related to the disclosure cycle, as well as committees involving non-technical functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the implementation of the Application Support team capability roadmap, including understanding training and skills gaps within the team, developing and conducting trainings and other initiatives that will challenge the team to keep growing.
- Whilst working through their own backlog of tickets, acting as a technical lead to support in resolving and understanding the root cause analysis of blocked support tickets
- Analysis, optimise and documentation of team ways of working across L1-3 and setting up touchpoints which encourage sharing, reflecting and problem solving
- Partnering with wider Digital teams to understand new releases, how they operate, and upskilling the Application Support team on new functionality and configuration.
- Monitoring and reporting on metrics to help understand performance, future activity projections, and supporting the understanding of required resourcing within the team, as well as any potential operational efficiency gains.
- Representing Application Support at key internal meetings, and regularly aligning across non-Digital teams (Commercial, Marketing, Legal, etc).
You will have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria:
- Significant experience providing application support to bespoke applications or Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to build partnerships based on trust, as well as comfort in persuading and challenging others
- Effective communicator with a natural capability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Capable of create informative and engaging trainings and workshops tailored for relevant audiences, particularly release onboarding
- Hands-on experience with Topdesk, ServiceNow, or any incident management planning tool
- Database management skills with SQL
- Previous experience delivering cross-functional projects to deliver business improvements
- Exposure to managing external vendors
- Analytical approach to ticket analysis, capacity planning and other relevant areas
