About the Team:
Events team is to align event strategies with broader functional and organizational goals, enhancing brand visibility and stakeholder engagement through impactful event experiences
About this role:
Leads regional events plans of CDP APAC, with a focus on Japan, tailoring tactics to reach local audiences while ensuring alignment with global Marketing & Communications strategy.
What you will do:
Strategic Planning:
Lead the APAC events plan as the region’s events expert — delivering Japan end-to-end, advising Market Activation teams in other markets
Act as a key interface for APAC with the Global Events team
Events organization: For Japan delivered end-to-end; for other markets delivered in coordination with local teams
Lead end-to-end delivery of CDP-hosted and co-hosted events in Japan, including CDP-managed events at third-party conferences(e.g., webinars, roundtables, awards, c-suites events) to drive thought leadership, stakeholder engagement and sales
Coordinate event planning including timelines, budgets, stakeholders, speakers, local vendors, and logistics
Manage partners and sponsors in collaboration with other teams
Oversees content development and agenda coordination, in collaboration with Market Activation APAC team members, ensuring teams deliver their inputs on time
Co-develop an event promotion plan in collaboration with the relevant M&C team members
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) (attendance, leads, engagement, brand impact), provide regular reports and insights to inform future strategies
Ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards including consistent branding and storytelling
For the rest of APAC, act as an expert advisor, guiding local teams to define and execute their plans

Direct reports: None
Internal stakeholders: Regional teams from other functions, global Marketing and Communication teams including Global Events team, Market Activation Teams across APAC
External stakeholders: includes partners and sponsors, event speakers and attendees and vendors
We’re looking for:
Experience in event management, including planning, execution, and strategy development (mandatory, min 7 years)
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and foster community across multiple stakeholder groups to deliver events
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills in both Japanese and English
Confidence in working with senior stakeholders internally and externally, using tact and diplomacy, and knowing when to challenge appropriately
Excellent face-to-face and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to collaborate across global and regional teams, aligning efforts across functions and markets
Adaptable and resourceful — thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Understanding of corporate sustainability, financial markets, and ESG-related regulations and policies in Japan
Budget management skills

The salary banding for this role is JP¥ 5,304,388 -JP¥ 6,531,796/year. Holidays and benefits in accordance with local regulations. This is a hybrid role, candidates will need to live within a commutable distance of the Tokyo office and be comfortable with 2 days in the office per week.
