About this role
for shaping and leading the NA events strategy, while overseeing the successful planning and execution of CDP's flagship and proprietary events across the Americas region. This role project manages CDP’s participation at key milestone global events taking place in region such as New York Climate Week, Conference of the Parties (COP) events taking place in the Americas region etc. ensuring alignment with CDP’s global events and brand strategies and strategic goals. The role will also be responsible for the project management and delivery of other key proprietary CDP events within AMERS such as the CDP AMERS Awards, working with a cross functional team from across Marketing & Communications as well as other key partners in CDP.
What you will do
- Customize and execute a regional flagship events strategy that aligns with CDP's worldwide events objectives and supports regional growth, visibility, and engagement goals
- Oversee end-to-end project management of flagship and proprietary regional events, including planning, budgeting, logistics, event websites/landing pages and execution
- Ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards
- Collaborate with Market Activation team in North America on event marketing strategies for regional events that promote CDP's mission, values, and objectives effectively within the region
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success of AMERS flagship and proprietary regional events, providing regular reports and insights to inform future strategies
- Identify potential risks and issues related to regional events and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure event success and compliance with regional customs and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with teams across Commercial, Impact, and Marketing Communications to ensure seamless alignment of regional events with the organization's global strategy and broader objectives
- Act as the main point of contact for key external stakeholders such as vendors, external events partners etc. providing leadership and guidance to ensure a high performing and cohesive regional event execution
- Liaise with communications colleagues to co-develop a regional comms and outreach strategy to augment CDP’s regional flagship and proprietary events.
- Collaborate with the Sponsorships & Partnerships Manager to engage CDP partners and event sponsors to maximise ROI on events, deliver impactful and innovative sponsorship activations and to ensure cost neutrality for all AMERS events.

Internal stakeholders include Marketing & Communications Team, Executive Leadership Team, Regional Directors, Key members of the Impact and Commercial Teams
External stakeholders include partners and sponsors, clients, event speakers and attendees, vendors and consultants
We’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Event/Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field. Equivalent experience in event or project management, including planning, execution, and strategy development, will be considered in lieu of formal education
- Experience in event management, including planning, execution, and strategy development
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and foster community across multiple stakeholder groups to deliver events
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confidence in working with senior stakeholders internally and externally, using tact and diplomacy, and knowing when to challenge appropriately
- Excellent face-to-face and interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of the regional market dynamics, culture, and regulations
- Budget management skills
- Commitment to environmental sustainability and the mission of CDP

The salary banding for this role is $76,000 - $87,000
This is a hybrid role, candidates will need to live within a commutable distance of the New York office and be comfortable with 2 days in the office per week.
