About the Data Governance & Quality team
The Data Governance & Quality team are responsible for the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies, standards, and reporting on governance and data quality improvement. Our aim is to define and measure the quality of CDP’s data by embedding data governance and quality standards into the organisational design, ensuring the delivery and maintenance of high data quality.
Job Purpose and Background
The Data Quality Specialist will lead the creation and support the implementation of crucial data quality reporting methodologies and tools essential for improving and maintaining the quality and integrity of CDP’s data. They will develop data quality methodologies and reporting mechanisms that can optimize data collection, analysis, and usage across all CDP’s data. To lead the support on data quality improvement through remediation, measurable data quality improvement, ensuring compliance and risk reduction. They will influence change and maximize data value through transparent and applicable data quality management practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deployment of tools, methodologies, and best practices to analyse, measure, and develop data quality action plan to deliver data accuracy, reliability, completeness, and consistency across CDP.
- Help develop, operationalize, and oversee the Data Quality and Governance Tools to continuously monitor and track errors, ensuring that data is proactively improved across all areas.
- Work with the business to establish data quality metrics and reporting mechanisms to identify, predict, resolve, and prevent data quality issues.
- Work alongside and closely with the Digital and project teams during system development and change to establish effective data governance and quality standards for enterprise-wide data management.
- Implement robust data cleansing strategies and the use of tools to address and remove data inconsistencies, duplication, errors, and outliers within existing data sets.
- Motivate, empower, and lead a data quality and governance culture where staff can clearly recognize the value of data quality within their team, across CDP, and in the output we produce.
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Data Quality or Data Quality Assurance qualification or substantial applied experience working within a data quality improvement setting.
- Experienced in engaging stakeholders to secure buy-in and align activities with strategic goals whilst applying relevant frameworks.
- Experience implementing Data Quality methods and principles to deliver and maintain high-quality data assets
- Experience in query languages (e.g., SQL) for data validation and quality improvement purposes.
- Understanding of using data quality and governance tools to assess and drive data quality improvement.
- Ability to apply data quality methods to identify, predict, resolve, and prevent data quality issues.
- Experience using reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc., and communicating insights to drive actionable outcomes.
- An understanding of data lifecycle and effective data governance best practices application across all phases of the lifecycle.
- Familiar with monitoring data for compliance and assurance within systems and databases, such as CRM systems and data platforms.
- Analytical, with excellent and diverse problem-solving skills and curious attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of process automation and improvement.

- £37,643 - £56,465 per annum
